People who sleep late are more likely to have an unhealthy diet, according to results of a study being presented at SLEEP 2016 - the 30th Anniversary Meeting of the Associated Professional Sleep Societies LLC, held in Denver, CO. Researchers who pooled and analyzed data on 1.44 million people from 12 studies, finds those who were most physically active in their leisure time had a lower risk of developing 13 out of 26 types of cancer, compared with those who were the least active.
The international team of researchers - including investigators from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) in Bethesda, MD, and the American Cancer Society in Atlanta, GA - reports the findings in the journal JAMA Internal Medicine.
